Dear Readers of A Considerable Age
I know it's not Sunday morning, but I’m reaching out on a Wednesday afternoon in the hopes of catching your attention.
I'm thrilled to announce a project that's been close to my heart for the past two++ years.
I have been researching and writing a book that I've titled "Mother Land: A Memoir. A Journey. A History."
Starting this Saturday, April 6, 2024, I'll begin serializing it here, one chapter at a time. Every. Saturday. Morning.
What’s "Mother Land" about? It’s about the unimaginable happening to ordinary people.
It traces the journey of a young girl who longed to be anyone but the daughter of immigrants to a mature, educated, successful woman who discovers the dark, messy, heroic, courageous stories of her Polish parents and millions of people like them, who survived the brutal Nazi occupation of their country.
It’s a story that is not well known. You’ll find out why as well. Regardless of your familiarity with history, I guarantee you'll discover something new.
But first, I start at the beginning with my story, the daughter of new immigrants in Smalltown, Ontario, so you’ll understand why this is NOT just another war story. My parents would never have wanted me to write a story about the war.
You can find the link to subscribe to MOTHER LAND here.
As I embark on the daunting and Herculean task of finding a publisher, I'm grateful for your support and encouragement.
Thank you for taking the time to read this mid-week message and for subscribing. I'm excited to share the journey to Mother Land with you. Please join me.
Alice
