Dear Alice. I loved this story. Of course. The piano man. Your beloved mother in law. And dear piano playing father in law. They all come to life. As will the piano. Beautifully written, as ever. Thank you. ❤️
Wonderful family/piano story. I often see ads now from people offering good pianos "for free" because no-one wants, apparently, to buy and move them. Yet they were a fixture in many middle- and upper-class homes a century ago, and someone was expected to perform on them for guests or holiday sing-a-longs.
My grandfather tuned and reconditioned pianos. It’s a precious part of my memories as a child and the baby grand piano he gave his grandkids resides in my living room, sadly more art than instrument. Still, it harkens back to an age when possessions were fewer and dearer, something that resonates with me all those years hence
A wonderful story Alice, so nicely presented.
An exquisite story, perfect pitch.

What a beautiful story about how kindness is remembered and passed on in ways we can't imagine.
Lovely repeat about family, memory and that piano!

A splendid story so well told. You hit all the right notes.
There are some wonderful humans out there in this world. Sheila was one of them as was Piano Man. You were wonderful to share this story with us.
What a wonderful story and a great tribute to Sheila. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Thanks
And I wanted to say thank you for the story, but must have pressed send in error!
I believe that Sheila would be very happy with your tribute.
