I held my breath for the first part of your recounting your son’s early life. So painful for him, but I suspect your suffering was “uncountable”. How miraculous is modern medicine and how fantastic that your son is happy and growing. Thank you for the gift 🎁 of your sharing your pain of being a mother.
Uncountable: exactly! And then the magnitude of his turn around can’t be quantified either. You said it: miraculous and fantastic. Thank you for reading.
Sacred indeed! A drug called Fintepla. My son was in one of the first clinical trials in 2017. It is now FDA approved. While a very good therapy for many, my son’s stability and drastic seizure reduction are exceptional. Just like him.
Thank you for sharing your story. Your words made the whole experience come so very alive. And also brought back from memory when my son was young. He was seriously asthmatic, and I remember counting how long he could go without having trouble breathing and whether we would need to go to the hospital yet again. I was counting in hours not minutes... and even that was all consuming. I love that now your days are measured in more uplifting ways. Mine too.
Thank you for sharing this. My husband also had severe asthma as a child. My mother in law did this same nervous counting when he was young. To much more uplifting measurements for all!

Could you tell us what made the difference? Medical science is a sacred calling.

What a relief that your son is better. Thank you for reminding me how previous a second really is.
A life-changing relief, for sure! Thank you for reading, Sylvie.
What a beautiful memoir. Laden with a mum's love. Thank you.
Thank you, Prue.
So lovely. I could have gone on reading for many, many, many more seconds. ❤️
Thank you, Ramona. I write about my son often. If you’ve got the seconds, I’ve got the words in my monthly newsletter :)
Beautifully told story. Such courage.
Thank you, Henry.
I especially enjoyed the slow pace of this child's unfolding. He and his mother seem to really know that there's no hurry. Thank you for that.
Unfolding: such a perfect word to use! Thank you for reading, Susie.
Very touching story of a tedious path toward recovery. No a hint of despair, only hope. Be well!
Only hope ❤️
It is the holiday season. Wishing you an abundance of astounding things. Hoping for the rest of us it includes your astounding writing.
