I have been finding light in my guitar (I’m teaching myself and it’s a thrill to be able to even just play something simple), and in reading the beautiful classic novels!

Love the idea of bridges between us, connecting us, shortening distance between us, and I know I will be continuing to create them, watch for them, and skip across them!

I've come to look forward to Sundays and the posts on A Considerable Age. What a remarkable group of thinkers and writers you have attracted, Alice. Your initiative does, in its own small way, make our world a better place.

So, you write that you want to hear what's bringing light into your readers' worlds these days? Well, it's you!

Being born into a wonderful family is a stroke of luck. Joining a new virtual community of readers and writers in one’s eighth decade (itself a disturbing way of describing one’s 70s) is a joy. Alice, you are both a gifted writer and a marvellous shepherd of others (even if it occasionally means telling me to get the flock out of here). Thanks for both the opportunity to contribute occasionally (complete with your invisible-weaving editorial skills) and the regular dosing of the experiences and perspectives of others. The world may be difficult, but gratitude is still pretty easy to find.

Hello from down under to our kindred spirits, our dear Canadian friends. πŸ‘‹πŸΌ Thanks Alice for your wonderful words of care and comfort. We live a long way from war zones, but the horrors still find us and penetrate our hearts, especially as we are helpless against the fragile egos of men with no conscience and a barrel full of needless aggression. Despite signs everywhere saying rudeness won't be tolerated, I still find most people are kind and caring and so I hope that despite the madness "out there", that we can still maintain a sense of hope and grace in here ➑️ πŸ’œ

Thanks Alice. Gratitude is indeed the best attitude - and we all enjoy many blessings in this country. We should acknowledge and celebrate them every day. Relative to most places in the world I believe Canada remains a civil beacon to the world. I’m reminded of this Almost every

Alice, thank you for your pitch perfect words in heart-breaking times. There are joys and bridges to be found and forged. I have learned a great deal from A Considerable Age and from The Mother Land.
