Who could imagine such a scene - Everly Brothers being belted out on the Mekong! Thank you for a delightful tale, Lin, and I enjoyed looking up images of the Temples in Luang Prabang as well - so beautiful!
Thank you Roberta. I'm glad you found some images of the temples in Luang Prabang. There are some beautiful ones of both the exteriors and some of the interiors with the stencilling and gold leaf. A special place.
Hello Lana, and thank you for your comment. Yes, there are many images of the Buddhas in the Pak Ou Caves that can be found online, as well as ones of the temples in Luang Prabang. I hope you are able to find them.
My memories of being in a local boat on the Mekong were awash in the garbage in the river! We passed some barges where the staff emptied their human waste in the river! The Laotians however were lovely & generous!
Hello Selma. Oh dear, sorry you did not have such a positive experience of the Mekong. Maybe another section of the river, or time. I'm glad you had good encounters with Laotian people, like I did.
an enchantingly written story epitomizing that unexpected thrill of travel. and of course to highlight there is always a solution to break down a barrier!
Sounds wonderful/amazing! ✨
Thank you so much for your comment, James.

Now all I have to do is “dream, dream, dream”! So evocative of time and place. Merci, Lin!

Rounding the corner to discover the caves while singing "Dream, Dream, Dream" is almost too good to be true. A delight.
Thank you Susie. And may I say how much I enjoy your stories as well.
