How lucky you are to have four friends with whom you've been connected for such a long time! Speaking personally, I realize my longterm friendships resemble the spokes of a wheel, with me at the hub. They barely know each other. Probably due to my many moves to various cities and countries. Lovely piece!

A lovely gentle piece on friendship, Alice, and I like the sounds of your friends.

This piece is a great comfort. My friends have been more scattered, less of a cohesive group. I had my son on the early side and didn't really have the peers that you write about. Now, I'm far away in my new home near my family and am having the opportunity to discover them as people who can listen and share and advise. However it works, as long as it works, as long as we feel cared for.

I enjoy you blog very much. I too, am of a considerable age and agree. What would we do without our lifetime friends?
