gee whittakers David, I do not know you but some of your clan, and this is such a delicious article summing up your many talents seemingly spread throughout the entire gene pool of the Goldbloom family. Patients are lucky to have you as their shrink as you appreciate human nature from so many vistas. Since the world is amuck, what a treat to read this...much better than any old valium!

best regards Mary Anne Ferguson

PS it is me again, Mary Anne. I believe I did meet you years ago in the MCH ER..I was conferring with some social work students about a case and you came by to note we looked like a football huddle which of course was quite hysterical..one always needs levity in the ER!

Hi Mary Anne! I last worked in the MCH ER in around 1983 as a resident, and it’s nice to know that comments like this, bordering on inappropriate as usual, are remembered. In my view, the difficult work of ER, which I did for a number of years at CAMH, demands the release that humour provides. Plus I come from a family of jokers, so I can’t help myself.

Wonderful piece - love the humour, and wish I'd cool siblings like you did! Mine were 7 and 11 years older than me and were no fun at all. Is Alice your sister?

Nope! She is my cousin’s wife!
