It has been a season of loss. Has it for all? Being an empath, a word I didn’t know (v empathy I did) until some years ago makes so many deaths those I born. In my religion we have a prayer that asks would we want no more deaths if it meant no more new lives. I always choke up, cry and think and never reach an answer.
The sun cannot return people. Oh the weight of that phrase. And the yearning your words evoke for all those in my life who will not return. Thank you (and your son) for this honest conversation and reminder that we are alive today, in this moment, and that is something to celebrate.
Alive again today - yes, so worthy of celebration and yet somehow hard to keep track of the gift. Thank you for reading and this lovely comment, Julie.
A moving piece, beautifully written about what life gives us and takes away. Thank you Jen
Brilliant, touching, and universal.

If a piece of writing could be more than perfect, this would be it. Thank you especially for "deep animated catalogue."
Susie! I feel the same way about his comment ;) Thank you!
